Job Title: Storeroom Attendant
Location: East Hartford, CT 06118
Job Type: 3-Month Contract-to-Permanent
Pay Rate: $18.50/hr.
Shift: 1st Shift – Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
Lunch: 30-minute unpaid lunch
Overtime: Occasional weekend overtime may be required
Training: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM for approximately 1–2 weeks
Work Arrangement: On-Site
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Storeroom Attendant to support daily warehouse and storeroom operations at a customer facility. This position will be responsible for receiving, stocking, issuing, and cycle counting inventory, while maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
Approximately 80% of the role will focus on receiving and inventory activities, so previous warehouse, receiving, and inventory experience is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, organize, and put away incoming inventory and materials.
- Perform inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.
- Stock and maintain parts and materials in an organized storeroom.
- Issue parts and materials to employees through the storeroom/crib window.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using computer systems.
- Operate forklifts and aerial lifts safely as required.
- Operate both stand-up and sit-down forklifts.
- Drive a golf cart to various areas of the facility as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized storeroom and work area.
- Provide professional customer service to employees and facility personnel.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and company policies.
- Assist with other warehouse and storeroom duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Previous receiving and inventory experience strongly preferred.
- Warehouse or storeroom experience preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Experience operating aerial lifts is a plus.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to accurately handle inventory and maintain records.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be willing to work occasional weekend overtime.
Equipment Experience
Experience with the following equipment is preferred:
- Stand-up forklift
- Sit-down forklift
- Aerial lift (up to 16 feet)
- Golf cart/facility utility vehicle
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Steel-toe shoes are required.
- Warehouse is not climate controlled and may become hot during the summer.
- Work environment may be dusty.
- Must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
- Must be able to safely perform warehouse, receiving, stocking, and inventory duties.
- Dress code: Jeans or khakis required; sweatpants and leggings are not permitted.
