Job Summary
We are seeking an Onsite Endoscopic Specialist to provide hands-on support for medical and surgical devices within a hospital or surgery center. This position will work closely with Operating Room (OR), Sterile Processing Department (SPD), and Biomed teams to ensure endoscopic instruments and video equipment are properly maintained, functional, and ready for patient procedures.
The ideal candidate will have experience with endoscopy or surgical medical devices, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work directly with clinical staff in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide face-to-face technical support to OR, SPD, and Biomed teams.
- Perform daily inspection, maintenance, and management of endoscopic instruments and video equipment.
- Set up and support endoscopic video towers and related equipment in the Operating Room.
- Troubleshoot equipment and instrument issues and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
- Inspect surgical instruments and document equipment condition and functionality.
- Perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment in reliable working condition.
- Monitor and facilitate repair, exchange, and replacement transactions.
- Maintain instrument sets to ensure they are clean, functional, complete, and ready for use.
- Handle the cleaning, sterilization, packaging, and transportation of surgical instruments according to established procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, equipment handling, and operational efficiency.
- Help reduce unnecessary repair and replacement costs through proper equipment maintenance and process improvements.
- Provide training and education to OR and SPD staff on equipment, instrument handling, and related processes.
- Maintain strong working relationships with hospital staff and provide responsive customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with endoscopy or surgical medical devices.
- Experience supporting Operating Rooms (OR) and/or Sterile Processing Departments (SPD).
- Hands-on experience with endoscopic instruments and video equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, or maintaining medical/surgical equipment.
- Knowledge of surgical instrument cleaning, sterilization, handling, and packaging procedures.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Comfortable working directly with physicians, nurses, OR staff, SPD personnel, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to train and educate clinical staff on equipment and processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a hospital or surgery-center environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with endoscopy equipment.
- Experience supporting surgical procedures or endoscopy services.
- Biomedical equipment or medical device service experience.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements within OR or SPD environments.
