Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Maintenance Mechanic to analyze, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair CNC electro-mechanical systems and related machine subsystems in a precision manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical and machine maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges. This role will focus heavily on preventive maintenance (PM), machine reliability, troubleshooting, and minimizing equipment breakdowns and product defects.

The facility includes multiple manufacturing suites with approximately 50 OEMs, 35 major machines, and 50+ peripheral systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines and manufacturing equipment.
• Inspect machines for air and water leaks, filter conditions, lubrication needs, and other maintenance requirements.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, servo, and CNC control systems.
• Identify machine abnormalities using real-time data such as servo load, temperature, vibration, and acoustics.
• Perform PM activities to improve machine reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics, drawings, specifications, ladder logic, and operating requirements.
• Program and operate CNC equipment as needed to verify maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose equipment issues and identify root causes to develop permanent corrective solutions.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform Ballbar testing and analysis when required.
• Complete detailed repair reports and GDP documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company quality, safety, environmental, and industrial standards.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, vendors, and other personnel.
• Respond to facility or equipment emergencies as needed, including occasional off-hours or weekend support.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems on CNC or industrial manufacturing equipment preferred.
• At least 1 year of hands-on machine, mechanical, or design shop experience may be considered for the right candidate.
• Strong general machine maintenance experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and equipment specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based documentation.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and safety-conscious.
• Ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience with CNC controllers such as:

  • Mazatrol
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing PLC and servo drive hardware/software.
• Experience maintaining CNC equipment from manufacturers such as:
  • Mazak
  • KERN
  • Tsugami
  • EuroTech
  • Rofin
  • Fanuc EDM
  • Maier
  • Citizen
• 2+ years of Ballbar testing and analysis experience.
• Welding experience.
• Previous experience working in a factory/manufacturing environment.
• FDA-regulated manufacturing environment experience.
• Associate degree, technical certification, or education in advanced manufacturing, machining, or a related technical field.
